By way of an update, my own designs re-interpret the repeating patterns common in 1950 textiles by recording the ubiquitous images of our time – the i-pod, takeaway coffee cup and long life light bulbs and Viagra as examples. These images have become commonplace over the last decade or so and their repetition in domestic use reinforces their profile in day to day life. My strong interest in colour is evident in each of the chosen and designed fabric – all of them using bold and complementary tones.
